When Coach Jeff’s oldest son was in kindergarten he noticed that youth sports was broken: The kids weren’t having fun, which is essential especially at an early age. It seemed that the “better athletes” would get the most of the coach’s attention while the other kids would get less, if any attention. Like anything else, all kids develop differently and at different rates. Some bloom early, while others take time. It seemed that the kids who got less attention lost interest in the sport or quit because of a bad experience with the coach. Coach Jeff knew this was wrong and set out to fix it. He started coaching and formed Wolves Basketball Academy. His vision, and WBA’s, is to provide a fun, instructional and competitive environment where every young person enjoys playing, and where every young person is given the personal attention to develop at their own pace.
Coach Jeff has been coaching basketball for 15 years. He has coached at the JCC of Central NJ, North Brunswick league and the Scotch Plains summer recreation league. He is a certified NBA Clinician as well as a USA Basketball certified Coach. His favorite memories are winning the Hoop Heaven HS winter championship in 2013 (JCC’s first ever championship), 2014 as well as the Monroe Sports League Championship in 2016. “What I love about all of my teams is that all of my players get to feel like they have a positive impact in every game.”
